I’m your oenologist and viticulturist – a South African with a degree in wine and the vine.

Making wine across the world, meeting unique wine personalities on the grape escape TV and now owning a winery just outside Los Angeles has allowed me the privilege, to gain invaluable experience.

During this now 17 year wine journey I’ve discovered how hugely impactful wine can be in one’s life.

Making wine and working alongside many other unique and diverse winemakers – I can honestly say that when you find yourself at the level where wine is produced (hands in the grapes and in the cellar) there is a harmonious, kind and respectful culture.

As it should be.

Wine is created with passion, science and yes… love.

However, when wine is perceived at the consumer level – for some reason, on the journey from the cellar to you – there can be intimidation, uncomfortableness and a judgmental air added to the wine experience.

That needs to change.

Everyone deserves a chance to learn and enhance their life with wine in a fun, rewarding and refreshing way.

And at the Grape Unknown we’re doing just that!
